Half a century ago this week, the Apollo 9 spacecraft (CSM-104/LM-3/SLA-12A) was moved into the Vehicle Assembly Building to be mated with Saturn 5 launch vehicle AS-504 on mobile launcher MLP-2 in High Bay 3. At left is the first stage of the Apollo 10 launcher (S-IC-5) being readied to begin stacking of AS-505 on MLP-3 in High Bay 2. These were busy times at KSC.

Great picture. I was lucky enough to see Apollo 9 on the pad as a little boy with my grandparents.

Agree. Love these photos Ed.

In particular, I love the photos that depict the size of humans in relation to the giant machinery, like this photo does.

Just awesome.
