NASA-pilot Bill Dana flies the M2-F3 lifting body to a landing on Rogers Dry Lake after a flight to Mach 0.8 on December 16, 1971. Only two of the four engine chambers ignited.

If you have not read "Wingless Flight: The Lifting Body Story" by Dale Reed, then you have to get a copy. Amazing story!!!

Lifting bodies was a very interesting program, the book mentioned above is very helpful.
