For my Photo of the Week number 600 the choice was an easy one. Apollo 8 for me was the beginning of a life-long fascination with spaceflight, which resulted in many friendships over the years. My photo files still hold many gems, so here's to another 600. |

Ed, I'm sure that many cSers would agree... we really look forward to your weekly photo posting. A big "thank you" for these, and congratulations on reaching the 600 milestone (around 11.5 years!) and here's to many more. |

Thanks Ed! Keep up the good work. October 9, 1968, rollout on Apollo 8. Like you, this mission really jump started my interest in space. |

Like Ed and others Apollo 8 started my interest in space exploration. At this time I was 13 years old. A few days ago I became 61. Where are the years? |

In the above rollout photo, do you see a wire in the background climbing up to the left toward the VAB? What is that? The wire can also be seen in the high-res version of this S68-49397 rollout photo. It seems to be coming from the small opening on the side of the VAB between the High Bay doors. |

There is a 49MB version of that Apollo 8 rollout photo on the Internet Archive website. There definitely is a wire there. |
