The Apollo 10 crewmembers walk across swing arm no.9 high atop the LUT at Launch Complex 39B during a safety briefing on March 27, 1969. The crew inspected the slidewire facilities and used the chute that led to the 'rubber room' buried deep below the pad, where they could take shelter in case of an imminent explosion of the Saturn V launch vehicle.

Were there two patches for Gemini 6? The patch on the crew photo says "GTA 6."

Stafford also has the Gemini IX patch too, just to the left (our view) of the Gemini 6 patch.

Yes there were two patches. This photo shows the patch that actually flew on "Gemini 6."

Philip, the GTA-6 emblem was for the Gemini-Titan-Agena mission that was scrubbed in October 1965 when the Agena was lost. The new emblem for the rendezvous mission with Gemini 7 had 'Gemini 6' in the emblem.

Looking at that photo, it's the first time I realized that both Stafford and Schirra were wearing their pilot wings on their suits. From this shot, they look like the regular metal uniform wings.

I knew Conrad and Gordon had their Navy wings on, but in a patch version rather than the pin-on type.

This Gemini program summary photo with the crew signatures made the same mistake. It shows the "GTA-6" patch instead of the "Gemini 6" patch.

The Agena spacecraft in the GTA-6 patch was replaced by a second Gemini spacecraft in the Gemini 6 patch.
