The B-52 began service in 1955 and the USAF plans to keep them flying until 2045. That is nothing short of amazing. The B-52 is awesome. |

If I remember right that B-52 was 008, known as "Balls 8" and flew till just a few years ago. |

0008, actually. It's parked at the northeast entrance to Edwards AFB. Its many air launches are recorded on the fuselage, including 140 X-15 launches.See more pictures of this aircraft here. |
