Forty years ago today, the Apollo 11 astronauts were in quarantine in the Lunar Receiving Laboratory. They were busy being debriefed, writing their post-flight reports and taking a look at the photos that they took during the flight. Here they are looking at magazine AS11-37, containing photos of the lunar surface taken after the EVA from the LM window. These were among the first to be released to the press.

I see a look of quiet satisfaction in Collins and Armstrong's faces, while Aldrin, always the scientific type, seems to be figuring something out. Another winner Ed!

"Oh look Neil, here's one of y...no that's me. What about this one? No, no that's me too. Is there another roll of film around here we haven't looked through yet?"

It's interesting that they're just looking at the roll of negatives on a light table. Aldrin has the magnifier.
