Setting up the lunar rover at KSC's launch pad 39A in preparation for taking the official crew photo for Apollo-17 in August 1972. In the driver's seat is Wilbur Beck, the lead simulator manager at KSC for Singer-Link (from the remarkable collection of Ray Holt).

Scott,

If you like the photo, then you'll love the Lunar Rover simulator that's sitting in my garage. Don't I wish...LOL.

I purchased a very large collection of artifacts from Wilbur's family, which included a few hundred behind the scenes photos of the Apollo CM interiors, LM interiors and LRV assembly & testing images. Unfortunately 1/2 of the photos were destroyed by water when they were stored in the garage after Wil's death in 1995.

A big thanks to Ed for a beautiful job of digitally restoring the color & sharpness to this great behind the scenes photo. I think of Ed's photo collection as a pictorial history of the space program and I'm very happy to contribute a tiny part to it.

Ray
