Alternate crew portrait of the STS-27 crew, wearing their launch & entry suits. I don’t understand why they didn’t pick this one as their official portrait, instead of the one in the dark blue shirts. They look much more “astronaut-like” in this photo…

Is there a reason why the orange suits from this time often had both NASA logos on them (the "meatball" logo on the front and the "worm" logo on the shoulder)? It seems common on some of the other crew photos from this time. Was NASA beginning to phase out the worm logo gradually...or is there another reason both logos were used at that point?
