Did representatives from these two companies mention if they had interviewed or consulted with any of the living Apollo moonwalkers?I am curious to know if they sought any first-hand knowledge/experience. |

Dan Burbank, speaking for Collins Aerospace, highlighted the company's Apollo legacy (its Hamilton Sundstrand division was previously Hamilton Standard, which with ILC, designed and built the Apollo A7L spacesuit), and he mentioned how astronauts were involved in the design of its xEVAS spacesuit, but no specific mention was made of Apollo-era crew members.Both Collins and Axiom Space will have access to NASA's EVA Technical Library, which includes Apollo Experience Reports. |

NASA release NASA, Axiom Space to Reveal Artemis Moon Mission SpacesuitA spacesuit prototype of what NASA astronauts, including the first woman, plan to wear on the surface of the Moon during the agency's Artemis III mission, is set for reveal during a televised event hosted by Axiom Space beginning at 10:30 a.m. EDT (1430 GMT) Wednesday, March 15, from Space Center Houston in Texas. The event will air live on NASA Television, the NASA app, and the agency's website. NASA selected Axiom Space to deliver a moonwalking system to land the first astronauts near the lunar South Pole. Planned during the reveal activities are remarks from NASA and Axiom Space experts, a suit demonstration, as well as question-and-answer sessions with media and students.
