The CBS affiliate in San Diego, KFMB Channel 8, has a fairly extensive film archive that is slowly being transferred to digital and posted on their YouTube channel. Here is their latest discovery — a rare interview with Mercury astronaut Scott Carpenter discussing SeaLab Ii in 1965.

I am assisting their archivist with identifying lots of space-related material, so stay tuned to their YouTube channel for more!

Carpenter talked to the then-orbiting Gemini 5 crew of fellow Mercury astronaut Gordo Cooper and Pete Conrad while residing underwater aboard Sealab II that year.
