Much has been said about the consequences had the Apollo lunar module ascent engine failed to work. Most of this has been focused on the very real predicament faced by all three crew members, those destined to stay on the surface and the command module pilot returning to Earth solo.
But what of the engineers that put many many long hours into the design and testing of this engine. How would they have felt faced with a failure? Is anyone aware of interviews or discussions with them? Better yet can anyone put me in contact with any of the engineers?
I am writing a piece on the LM engine design so doing a bit of research.

You might try "Moon Lander" by Tom Kelly.

Thanks, yes a great source of info on design but doesn’t fully cover that aspect which led me to my post.
