I would like to let you know about a section on my website which is devoted to NASA's public affairs officers (PAOs) during the Apollo era. In addition to bios and pictures, there are samples of each man's commentary to help you identify them when listening to mission audio.

Doug Ward was a great resource and extremely helpful. By the way, he speaks very highly of two members of this forum, David Meerman Scott and Richard Jurek. He enthusiastically recommends their "Marketing the Moon" as an accurate summary of what went on in the Apollo Public Affairs office. He also loves Richard's book on George Low.

The rest of the site is in its infant stage, but you can see the PAO section here.

Thank you for your wonderful posts on this forum. I learn something new every time I visit.

Nice work, Rob.

Isn't it funny how people never look anything like you expect them to!

I think they all did a great job, but my favourite voice was that of Terry White.

Nicely done, Rob! And many thanks for the kind words.

Please do extend greetings to Doug. He provided vital insight for both "Marketing the Moon" and "The Ultimate Engineer," and is always a fascinating person to talk with and interview. Bravo on a job well done.

I completely agree, this is terrific and well-done. I would just note that John McLeisch, Terry White and Jack Riley were also still doing mission commentary during the early shuttle flights. I worked with all three as a reporter at JSC and they were all smart, kind and helpful professionals.
