I think Joe Kerwin was on the Group 8 selection board. Rhea Seddon makes reference to that in her autobiography. |

Many years ago after an astronaut autograph show, Wally Schirra joined a bunch of us in the hotel bar. One of the stories he told was how he and Grissom interviewed Buzz Aldrin. So, Schirra and Grissom were likely on the Group 3 selection board. |

Rhea Seddon also wrote in her autobiography that she served on the boards for the NASA 13 and 14 classes before and after STS-40. |

Very odd that the entire Gemini 10 crew would be assigned to the Group 5 selection committee in the midst of training for their flight.

Mike Collins said pretty much the same thing in his autobiography "Carrying The Fire." |

Gene Cernan noted in "The Last Man on the Moon" that Deke Slayton, Wally Schirra and Al Shepard were on his selection panel (Group 3). |

I do not know if he is a member of the board or was assisting in some other fashion, but when Victor Glover was unable to attend this year's SXSW presentation with his Artemis II crewmates, it was said that it was because he was needed at Johnson Space Center to help select the next class of astronauts (Group 24). |

Those that have an interest in autographs, in this topic there is a cover that was autographed by 13 of the 15 astronaut selection board members that chose the 35 Group 8 space shuttle astronauts. The six astronauts on the board autographed the cover, including Deke Slayton and John Young. Not signing were Glenn Lunney and Duane Ross. | |
