Any recent news on his burial scandal? [Seems like he wasn't buried where his daughter wished.]

Per the website of the Chuvash government (as found by journalist James Oberg), it was Nikolayev's desire (as expressed to the president of the Chuvash Republic) to be buried at his birthplace, near his parents' graves. Apparently, it is Chuvash law that barring the existence of written instructions (which apparently Nikolayev did not have, as verified by the daughter) that any witnesses to the a statement of desire by the deceased be respected and followed. It was Nikolayev's brother, Ivan and several of his friends that heard Nikolayev express his wish to be buried in the village of Shorshely. Therefore, his daughter's desires for his burial nearer to Moscow were not applicable.

More can be found here in Russian.

According to the same website, the following cosmonauts were present at the funeral: Korzun VG, Tafrov SV, Mayboroda AP, Volynov BV, Gorbatko VV, Sevastyanov VI, Budarin NM, Malenchenko YuI, Popovich PR, Konopada OP, Knyazkov SYu, Kolodin PI, StrogovVA, Kondrashov VI, Khalleyev AM, Sevryukov AA, Saburov PA, Khanygin AN.

As is evident, the definition being applied to "cosmonaut" is somewhat loose, as not all here are space flight veterans or candidates (i.e. Mayboroda is a Star City official).

Here are 34 photos from the Russian Orthodox burial.

Orthodox Christians don't embalm, so the burial was soon after death. Tyurin told me last night that this town is not very far from Moscow and Star City, so he's really not that far from friends and family in his final resting place.

All times are CT (US)
