I had the pleasure of meeting Cece at the 2004 show in Burbank. Once I was introduced to her, she remembered my name and always had a nice word when our paths crossed throughout the weekend. It was clear that she was special and genuine. I am saddened by the news of her passing, but honored that I had a chance to meet her. Such a loss. Rest in peace, Cece. You'll be fondly remembered. |

A sad farewell to this gracious, talented, witty and thoroughly delightful lady. I only had the one opportunity to meet Cece (at the San Antonio show) but she was certainly and truly an unforgettable character who spread joy to everyone she met there. Fondly missed. |

I'm one of those lucky ones who got to meet Cece a few times and have a few photos and book pages signed. Back in February 2005 I wished her a happy birthday through her website. The following is an email she sent me a few days later that I'd like to share. Steve Hankow, you'll appreciate this. I just got into the guest book on my web site and found your birthday greeting. I should get into that more often, but I just get busy and forget about it. Well, I guess the old adage of better late than never applies. I hope.
I do thank you for the b'day greeting. It was nice of you to do that and I do appreciate it.
Out of all the messages I received (thanks to that rat Steve Hankow who posted the info) you were only the second one who noticed that John's flight went on my birthday. I joked with John after his flight and told him it was very nice of him to celebrate my birthday that way. He got a kick out of that.
Steve said he had told 9000 people it was my birthday. I didn't believe him until I began getting emails with b'day greetings.
I told Steve to just wait until I get my hands on him at the show this August. Somehow I don't think he's shaking in his boots.
Again, thanks for the birthday greeting. I have told everyone I'm 38, a very old 38.

.Cece is to be laid to rest at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia, the same place my Dad resides. |
