The New York Times' obituary for Rathmann makes the story about the moon-flown decal sound less than certain.
Some believe he had a decal advertising his car dealership affixed to the lunar rover on either the Apollo 14 or 15 mission, both in 1971. He did nothing to quell the rumor.
