This is just so so sad. One of the most shocking I have ever experienced in the spaceflight world. I had no idea about his father being George Low or that he had cancer. This is truly a terrible loss. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends. It was a documentary about his STS-32 flight that helped me maintain my interest in spaceflight. A truly sad loss. Is there any word on funeral arrangements? |

While other sites have published some of the funeral's details, we have chosen not to until it is made clear that the ceremony is open to the public and is not intended for only Low's family and close friends. |

Very sad indeed. But he sure did pack a lot of adventure and life into his 53 years. |

Per today's Washington Post, the family of Mr. Low is requesting that donations in Mr. Low's name be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation. |
