From the Houston Chronicle:
quote:
Harold E. "Bud" Ream passed away July 18, 2007 in Friendswood, Texas at the age of 81. Born February 25, 1926 in Indianola, Iowa to the union of Harold Nickolas and Avis Ream, he is preceded in death by his parents. Survived by his loving wife of over 30 years, Rosemary Ream, son Scott Ream and wife Trisha, stepchildren Kathy Hanlon and husband Jerry, Robert Carroll and wife Tami, 7 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and his sister Bonnie. Bud served our country as a pilot in the U.S. Navy for over 20 years, and had a deep love for flying. Upon retirement from the Navy, Bud fulfilled his love of flying in his job at NASA where he was involved in many aspects of the NASA space program. Bud flew with, and trained astronaut personnel as a staff pilot using a variety of planes. One of the highlights of his career was teaching astronauts how to operate the lunar training vehicle and land it on the moon. He also provided support for shuttle activities at TAL sites at the time of launch, which included flying a weather recognizance aircraft prior to launch and coordinating flight of potential emergency landing. Bud will be missed by all that knew and loved him especially Rosemary, the love of his life, with whom he enjoyed dancing and traveling.
He was laid to rest on Friday, July 20, at Rosemound Cemetery in Waco, TX.

All times are CT (US)
