Did Alan Shepard have any children or is his wife still alive? I am trying to get info on him and I am not having a lot of luck. |

His wife Louise tragically died of a heart attack only one month after Admiral Shepard passed away. He and Louise were survived by daughters Julie, Laura and Alice, and six grandchildren. |

Apparently, I have read that he was a descendent of Mayflower passenger Richard Warren. |

It's worth noting that Shepard's daughter Alice is his wife Louise's niece, raised from an early age as their daughter. I don't know if she was formally adopted. |

If you go to the Plimouth Plantation just south of Boston, you can ask him yourself. Richard Warren that is, not Al Shepard. On edit: Richard and Elizabeth had six children and these produced 55 grandchildren. It's possible that everyone in the States can trace their ancestry back to the Foundling Fathers!!! |

I understand that Alan Shepard's brother served in Vietnam. If that's in fact the case, would anybody around these parts know the brother's name and in what capacity he served? |
