Many years ago, (guessing around '78) a publication down here featured an article on women recruited to NASA's astronaut ranks. One of the colour photos featured the candidates in Apollo-style white spacesuits (WSS, group shot and side on) and I can only recall with certainty, Rhea Seddon's inclusion. Naturally, the other ladies would have been (in all likelihood) Judy Resnik, Shannon Lucid, Sally Ride, etc.

Does anyone know where a copy of this photo might be found?

I have a portrait of Judy Resnik that was taken at this occasion, in WSS holding an Apollo helmet. I don't believe I have the group photo, but I know which one you mean.

I have always wondered why Judy Resnik was pictured in a AL7B/EVA suit and not the other women.

There is also a photo of Guion Bluford, Ron McNair and Fred Gregroy in A7LB spacesuits, which is understandable, as group 8 was the first time members of that minority group were selected, but I can't understand a picture of Resnik alone in such a suit. Any ideas anyone?

The picture I'm referring to was one featuring all the original female candidates outfitted in A7Ls... not one just confined to Judy Resnik.

While scouting around the net I came across one of the photos referenced upthread, of Judy Resnik - interesting shot.

I think there is one of Anna Fisher in one also. If I remember right she had one of Pete Conrad's suit since it was the smallest one NASA had.

For what its worth, Judy Resnik is wearing a pretty shabby mock up suit. Anna Fisher on the other hand is in a real A7LB.

I think the Resnik pic was for the creation of the McCall mural at JSC. I'll check around a little more on this.

Here is a '79 NASA pic of McCall holding a photo of Resnik from the same photo session in front of his mural depiction of her. I'm not sure if the photo was created for the JSC mural or if McCall was inspired by the photo for use in his mural. So if anyone knows McCall he will likely be able to answer this simple question.

And here is a photo of Resnik speaking with McCall at the mural's unveiling.
