With the success of Cosmic Con 2015, we could hardly not hold another.

Though things need to be done a little differently in order to make the event repeatable, and that is crowd funding and sponsorships.

As many of you know Cosmic Con isn't out to make money, the aim is to raise enough money to plow into future events - we were not able to do that this time, so we need to crowd fund.

We're aiming to hold the next event sometime between May-July 2016. Donations will be translated into tickets and extras (listed on our crowd funding page) and there are plenty of options. We want to be able to bring you not one astronaut, but many. Our initial goal is £10,000, but the more we raise, the more astronauts we can bring over.

Here is our our crowd funding page.

We would ask everyone to take a look, share it, and if you intend on visiting next year, to donate! Any questions, please let me know.

Will Cosmic Con be happening again this year? I had a fantastic time at the inaugural event, it was really refreshing to be at a show that was less autograph focused (not that I didn't get a few myself!) and more about the panels and lectures.

Jack Lousma was fantastic last year, he stopped to answer several questions for me and literally had to be pulled away by his minder/bodyguard/ guy who was telling him where he needed to be! And Al was a delight (as usual) and told me how professional the show was, even in its first year, and how much he enjoyed it when I saw him again in Ireland a few days later.

I'd love to hear some good news for 2016!?

Gareth, thanks for your interest. I tried to do a crowdfunding campaign to get an event going this year but unfortunately very few people were willing to buy a ticket without knowing which astronaut would be attending.

That said, there is a funding avenue I am exploring now and will know more sometime around June. If I can secure that funding there will be another, if not, then there won't be another Cosmic Con.

All times are CT (US)
