Has anyone heard any news on the Dave Scott Signing at Aurora? It was supposed to be on May 25th 2006. I sent in several items, but have heard nothing, and there has been nothing charged to my credit card. I sent a few emails to Victoria, and got no reply Thanks Mike |

I also sent something for the Dave Scott autograph signing. Since my check hasn't been cashed, I'm assuming that the signing was delayed. I also sent an email to Aurora the other day and am waiting for a response. It would be good if they updated the website with a status on the signing.Doug |

I have now heard from Victoria. Dave did some of the signing on May 25th, but returned yesterday to complete the rest of it. So I guess our items were signed yesterday.Mike |

I sent in my copy of "Two Sides of the Moon" and an 8 x 10 photo. I sent an e-mail 10 days ago, and followed up with an e-mail yesterday. No response yet.------------------ John Capobianco Camden DE |

Why do people bother with Aurora? IMHO, They're the LEAST professional and organised outfit in the space collectibles business I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with. You could try calling on the phone... certainly your emails are unlikely to be answered (none of mine were after the last auction. I had to call on the phone to eventually get the answer I was looking for). |

Actually I'm not sure this is the case anymore. I asked Dave at Spacefest if he would be doing another Aurora signing, and he replied bluntly "Probably not..." I am hoping that perhaps Novaspace might be able to handle Scotts sigings in future Mike Constantine http://moonpans.com |

In all fairness to Victoria, she was not compensated for the shows in which she accompanied Dave Scott. I saw what she had to put up with in regard to a few customers at the autograph shows. It's one thing to get paid and put up with the bull poopie, another thing to do it gratis and and put up with it. |

I sent two items (one of them valuable) to Victoria this Spring 2007 and have not heard word or received them back signed.I sent her an e-mail today and will let you know what I learn. Victoria has always done a fine job for me in the past when having items signed by Scott. I'll keep you posted. Rob |

I concur with your assessment regarding Ms. Campbell -- I have never had any concerns in the past, and I am sure everything is fine. ------------------ John Capobianco Camden DE |

HiI too have had only good experiences with Victoria either in-person, telephone, mail, or email. My only complaint about Aurora to date is the B&W, rather than color, catalog. David Wagner |

Not only does Aurora handle Dave Scott's signing requests BUT in all the years Vicki C. has offered this service, she has never charged collectors as much as one thin dime for her efforts. I suggest this is a major courtesy and challenge any of you to show me another dealer who has been as generous in this way. You'd do well to appreciate this "service" and hope that it continues. ------------------ Steve Hankow http://www.farthestreaches.com |

I was not aware of the arrangement. However, I'd like to make it clear that it was not my intent for my comment to be interpreted in a negative way. I have been an Aurora customer for some time now, and I have had nothing but good experiences. ------------------ John Capobianco Camden DE |

Not everyone has had good experiences... At Spacefest there were many consignors who were still waiting on payment from the March auction. Plus, just because a dealer offers a service and doesn't charge for that service doesn't mean the customer should accept poor service. |

If Victoria truly does not accept a dime for this service, then I would find that commendable. However, her arrangement with Dave Scott is not really something that concerns most customers (nor is it something that is advertised on the site, as a means to explain a perceived lack of service). The customer sees the $165 autograph fee as an advertisment for a signing service. The expectation is that this fee comes with a certain level of service from Aurora...including service that explains delays in returning items, website updates on signing schedules, or brief e-mails (or replies to enquiries) to customers. At a minimum, brief updates to the website (or even posts to CS) are an easy way to reach a large percentage of the customer base and stem the flow of enquiries from people wondering where their goods are. If anything, the lack of perceived quality service has harmed Aurora's image in some people's eyes. This thread is evidence that some feel the current level of service is lacking, with regards to the Dave Scott signings (not to mention the auctions, which are another matter for another thread). On many levels, it just doesn't seem like good business sense to do signings where some of the fee isn't being invested into customer service. When I have mail-in items signed via dealers, I generally expect that dealer will receive part of the signing fee in exchange for the service they provide. In fact, I'd rather pay a little extra for good service than pay less for a mystery mail-in signing. Note that this advice is meant as constructive criticism. For example, if Aurora charged $175 per Dave Scott signature (and took the extra $10 in fees as their cut) and improved their response times and communications as a result, I think most people would actually welcome that as a change for the better. However, that would also come with an expectation that e-mails and enquiries are generally returned within 24-48 hours, as they often are with other dealers. |

Hi there, friends:As promised, I am keeping you posted. Still no response from Victoria Campbell since my last posting here 13 days ago about the items I sent to her in in April/May 2007 to be signed by Dave Scott. And Steve Hankow chimes in above and tells me I should be grateful for this service. Yep. Boy, I am beginning to feel like an idiot for sending Victoria my items. |

Rob, Maybe Steve knows something about the service that the rest of us don't. But by your account it goes beyond shoddy. Have you tried phoning Aurora? I do hope you get your items back man!! Regards, Derek |

I received contact yesterday from Aurora. The note mentioned that Victoria has been out of the country and has not had access to e-mail. My items should be in the mail after an October 15 signing with Dave Scott. This is good news and I sure appreciated hearing from them. There's the update. Thanks for your support.Rob |

To confirm the previous post, I contacted Aurora last week and they indicated that Scott would indeed be signing on the 15th...I cannot confirm that the signing did in fact take place, but this was good news. We should hold our collective breaths in the hopes that we will be receiving our items in the mail soon.Charley |

Good news everybody. I received my items back signed by Dave Scott on Saturday. They looked pretty good. I really like how they did the COA, it's more item specific than any I had ever seen. That alone must have taken some time. I am very happy to have my items back, but I was getting worried. |

Wow....Now's really not the time to have finally organised something for signing by Mr. Scott but... well I have so I am wondering is it worth sending in, I'm not worried about it taking a long time as it is obviously just after a signing event but I queried Aurora and haven't got a word back from them if they are accepting items and payment details. Anyone got an opinion? John John |

Aurora has an auction scheduled for 1-2 Dec, so I suspect Victoria is working on getting the catalog squared away at the moment. I don't know this for certain, but I seem to recall Dave Scott being at Aurora auctions before, so it is possible that he would be there and signing on 1-2 Dec... I have also heard that he may be switching to a different company in the future to handle his autographs, although I don't know what kind of contractual arrangements he has with Aurora.Good luck... ------------------ John Capobianco Camden DE |

Great to hear from you, Paul. I had a crew completion on the base of my mahogany 1/48 CSM/LM model and, yes, an uncommon Gemini launch photo - you guessed it - in 16 x 20, inscribed as pilot of Gemini 8.Thanks for asking. Have a wonderful holiday- Rob

For those who may have hesitated getting something signed by Dave Scott at Aurora, Novaspace is saying (in their last e-mail) they will have a Dave Scott signing in March. No details at this point, but more should probably be known soon. |
