Sims/Hankow Ent. are pleased to announce that Buzz Aldrin, Gemini XII & Apollo XI, has been confirmed to appear at the UACC Autograph Show in Burbank, CA on 9/4 - 9/5. Dr. Aldrin's appearance is courtesy of collectSPACE.com & CountdownCreations.com.We would also like to note that special fees -- lower than his advertised direct through-the-mail rates have been negotiated for Dr. Aldrin's appearance at this show. I might add that with this guest announcement, there will be at least one moonwalker from each landing mission!! Just imagine the possibilities for putting together multi-signed items... Further details will be posted to collectspace.com soon. Steve Hankow Sims/Hankow Ent. www.autographshows.net Farthest Reaches Inc. www.farthestreaches.com

Neglected to mention that this is Buzz Aldrin's first ever, public appearance at an autograph show.Wanted to also say that we're not done yet. Still another MAJOR announcement is in the wings. I'd suggest that this might be a good time to book hotel and banquet tickets. Ya think?? ------------------ Steve Hankow http://www.farthestreaches.com |

Speaking on behalf of both collectSPACE and Countdown Creations, we are thrilled to be hosting Dr. Aldrin at the 2004 UACC Autograph Show. More details about Dr. Aldrin's signing policies for the show will be posted soon. We are working with his office to provide a fee schedule that will provide collectors with an opportunity to add his signature to your collection for less than $100 as well as take advantage, as referenced above, that one moonwalker from every landing mission will be present at the show. |

Thanks for the kind words General Lee, but at the risk of sounding like I'm promising undeliverable hype...this line-up can, and will be topped. If we're able to confirm (which I anticipate at anytime) our next major guest, your socks will truly be "blown off".So how many of you are attending or considering attending this event ?? ------------------ Steve Hankow http://www.farthestreaches.com |

I can not make it to the show, but what a great pleasure to meet the man in person. Could you bring him to London for the show next year ? I want to go, I'm begging to go, I'll sell the wife to go, But I just can't go, £575 for an airfare from Aberdeen is just a joke!I would be there but just wouldn't have the cash to stump up after paying such a rediculous airfare. I'm off to put my socks on for the next announcement. Collins? Mattingly Anders Schmitt Are were my moneys at IH |

This show lineup is incredible and Robert getting Aldrin to sign for such a great price is wonderful. Robert, any idea on what Aldrin's Apollo 11 completion fee might be at the show? Thanks! |

To be clear: the sub-$100 price will be for one specific piece and is targeted for those who want his autograph but are not seeking a specific item signed. His other fees, for custom memorabilia, multi-signed pieces, completion items, etc. will be lower then his direct through-the-mail rates (specifics may be available later). Dr. Aldrin has agreed to not charge a multi-signature fee for pieces signed in-person by other show guests. |

This of course is awesome news for anyone interested in putting together a multisigned item that would otherwise be too costly or difficult, just for having access to these astronauts. While it's true, I'm a bit biased, think most would agree that this is quite a unique opportunity to further your collections at lower than typical prices. ------------------ Steve Hankow http://www.farthestreaches.com |

Hi Steve, As you know, I will be attending this once in a lifetime event!! What I line-up...so many of my childhood (and adult!!) heroes in one place. Not only will we have the opportunity to obtain in-person autographs, but the thrill of actually meeting these living legends will last a lifetime. And when you consider the JPL tour, the celebrity dinner and the autograph class, it just doesn't get any better!! In anticipation of your next announcement, I've set my shoes aside, providing my socks ample opportunity to be knocked off!! Thanks for your (and Nolan's) hard work to pull all of this together. Many thanks, Dennis Beatty |

Hello Dennis,Nolan and I truly appreciate your kind words and hope that many of you can see your way free to attend this blockbuster event. Might be tough to assemble such a group ever again. The multi-signed possibilities are endless, not to mention the autograph opportunites between 3 Mercury Astronauts, 2 Gemini Crews, and SIX moonwalkers, representing one from each landing. Lastly, keep your eyes peeled for our next BIG guest announcement.... ------------------ Steve Hankow http://www.farthestreaches.com |

I was teetering back and forth as to whether or not I'd attend, but Aldrin's confirmation did it for me. I just made my hotel reservation and I'm off to book my flight. Three Mercury astronauts and six moonwalkers??? I keep repeating it to myself but I can't seem to get it to sink in completely!! |

This will be my first show and first time to meet an astronaut. I can't wait. A few brief questions:a.) when and where will a price list be posted? b.) will photos of each astro be available on-site for signing? c.) will you be able to speak with the asto and get a photo made if you do not purchase his autograph? As a first timer, I would like to be prepared. Any other info I need? Mike |

Hello Mike,Let me try to answer your questions. First of all the photos. I'm a photo fanatic and promise there will be a very wide range of photos available representing each astronaut. They will include individual images, crew images, training, launch, mission, and EVA. In addition there will be a great selection of "generic" images that can be used to assemble multi-signed pieces. I'm toying with the idea of creating an "Image" page so that they may be previewed and would welcome your thoughts on that as well as specific suggestions for imagery you'd like to see available. Since we add images right up to the last moment, an image page won't be all inclusive but will certainly give one a great idea of what's going to be available for purchase. Prices for 8x10s will be very reasonable. By reasonable I mean in the $5-$6 range. I fully expect there will be a selection of 11x14 photos for purchase as well. The quality will be excellent and these will be photos NOT computer or laser prints. Sims/Hankow will be hosting the "Photo" table and credit cards will be accepted as well. Now on to signing fees. In the past, I've been pretty famous for not wanting to post signing fees. There were a number of reasons that would all make good sense if I were to explain in detail. That notwithstanding, you can use the following as a guideline for BASE fees in order to help you budget your funds. As we get closer to the show, I promise that more specifics will become available. Most fees include a personalization or even mission information though up charges may apply for special requests. These charges are always at the descretion of the astronaut and remember, they reserve the right to refuse to sign anything they deem unsuitable. Now that being said: Mercury, Gemini, Apollo, will generally AVERAGE around $35. Skylab esimated to be $25-$30 Some astronauts such as Gene Cernan, Dave Scott, and Buzz Aldrin will have higher signing fees although you may find those fees to be reduced from their regular pricing, for those attending the show. Bruce McCandless is yet to be determined and don't have a sense of his signing fee quite yet. It's a bit early to confirm specific fees but as I mentioned, use past history and what information I'm providing here, to get a general idea. All other guests will have fees ranging from $10 to about $30. Feel free to ask if you have other questions regarding fees and I'll be happy to answer if I'm able. Regarding your third inquiry, you will without question have easy access to the celebrity guests at our show. They will enjoy chatting with you, answering questions, posing for photos, shaking hands, etc, as long as it's all within reason and in good taste. The atomosphere is casual if not downright jovial. They are coming to Burbank for one reason and one reason only....to meet and greet collectors/fans and sign autographs. You won't be disappointed, I promise. Ask any of our past attendees and you'll get the idea. Only other advice I can offer is to stay at the Burbank Hilton if at all possible. Will make is more convenient for you throughout the weekend for all the obvious reasons not to mention that it's right next to the Airport with free shuttle service available. Also, bring your camera as taking photos is not only allowed but is encouraged. Just be polite, ask first, and respect the astronauts at all times and you'll leave this event with a lifetime of incredible memories. This one will without question the best space themed show ever produced. It's the one you've been "waiting your whole life for", trust me, it's not just a load of hype.... ------------------ Steve Hankow Sims/Hankow Ent. www.autographshows.net Farthest Reaches Inc. www.farthestreaches.com

This show is shaping up to be a very unique experience for both collectors and for astronauts themselves. What a great opportunity. Keep those surprises and astronauts coming. Best, Bob

Sadly I can't make it to the show as I'm starting my vacation in Florida on Saturday the 4th which prevents me from attending the LA show. At the time I booked my holiday there was nothing like the list of attendee's at the LA show so I decided to take the Florida option where (hopefully) I'll get to witness the inagural launch of the Delta IV-Heavy.I hope everyone attending has a wonderful time and I just hope and pray that the London show next year has a similar line-up. Steve is getting the 1-G Lunar Roving Vehicle and having Armstrong drive you to the hotel from the airport. Of course, it's Pierre Armstrong that's driving you, a person who once spelled "astronaut" right.... Made my hotel arrangements. See you all there. |
