Chuck, Lot 175 (STS-6 presentation) description has quite a bit of revisionist history. May want to revisit. |

Not just revisionist history, but flatout wrong on Lot 175. Woody Spring didn't fly on STS-6. He flew on STS-61B. And he was an Army helo pilot, not a British scientist. |

Looked through these auctions and there are a few items on there that are far less legit. - Lot 149, Saturn Rockets book, that is a reprint signature that comes with the book, not signed by von Braun.
- Lot 192, Apollo 7 pictures and patches, the patches are knock off and not original.
- Lot 264, the data plate that appears to be glued on the rocket did not come on that type of rocket and is a simple add on by someone

To be open and honest we hired a person to help list the auction items and that was a mistake so he is now unemployed. I had no response when I asked if any cS members would like to work with us. I have found it is almost impossible to find people with even a basic knowledge of history outside of collecting groups.I did the best I could to catch all of the misinformation (he was using AI to help list items) but I guess I missed a few of the typos as I know Woody well and the mission he flew. But I did mention the plate had been glued back on the sounding rocket (I did think it was an original plate) and no one claimed the Apollo 7 patch was authentic or that would have been sold by itself. I appreciate every one who points out a mistake or flaw in our auctions. We list thousands of items and although I am very knowledgeable on space and memorabilia I am by no means an expert so help is ALWAYS welcome. Thank you everyone for your support. |

It was a great auction yesterday, Chuck, but I didn't know that a knowledgeable person had been hired to help with the auction listings.I did mention in an email about two weeks ago that the Wernher von Braun booklet (Lot 149) was not a genuine signature, but rather part of the Saturn Rockets printed publication. When a BAA/ASM auction comes up, on most occasions, I try to look over all the lots that I can unofficially for Chuck as a helping hand. In the case of shuttle astronaut Woody Spring for Lot 175, in all honestly, I never did read this particular lot description. If Chuck doesn't mind, I will try my best to review all/most future lots that I possibly can. I do recall a couple of earlier incidents that I had failed to notice or pay more attention to, hopefully, that will not happen again. |

Ken, thank you.For those in the collecting world, Ken Havekotte has been both a mentor and a teacher as well as a close friend. He has supported my auctions as well as my efforts to keep the American Space Museum open. Not many people know that just 9 years ago the museum was bankrupt and in the process of closing. In an effort to postpone that closure I started these auctions. I have done well in that regard. Ken Havekotte was onboard from day one helping me with auctions, authentications and most important catching my mistakes on auction listings. Please know I welcome the input from anyone in the collecting field, if you can correct a listing mistake, add insight to an artifact, catch a fake item or refer anyone to our auctions or the museum I am grateful. You may feel free to Email or call me directly or if you like to make my errors public Please feel free to list them here. As far as I know I am the only auction house in the country that does all of our auctions for charity supporting not only the American Space Museum but also the Infinity Science Center and the Apollo One Foundation. We also auction items for the benefit of several local charities. To end I would say the world would be greatly served if we would work together for a common love of space.
