In addition to offering more than 80 items from the Edgar Mitchell collection, the star lot of this sale may be Neil Armstrong's Omega Speedmaster. Neil Armstrong's personally-owned and -worn 18K solid yellow gold Omega Speedmaster Professional chronograph wristwatch (Ref. BA 145.022), presented to him at a special gala dinner on November 25, 1969, at the Hotel Warwick in Houston. Notably, there exist multiple photos of Armstrong during his tenure as a professor at the University of Cincinnati wearing his gold Speedmaster as he folds a paper airplane. Accompanied by an 'Extract from the Archives' certificate from Omega, with remarks citing it as a "Special numbered edition to celebrate the 'Apollo XI' moon landing." Bidding details: this watch will be sold LIVE at the Royal Sonesta in Cambridge, Massachusetts, at 6 PM ET on April 17, 2025; at that time, absentee bidding will close, and the auction will continue live in-person, via telephone, and on the Invaluable live bidding platform. To schedule a live auction phone call, please contact RR Auction at (603) 732-4280. |

Wouldn't Ed Mitchell's flown Apollo 14 Rolex GMT sold last October make the seven figure auction result list at $2,163,199? |
