Sound Estate Company release
Serious Space In Kent

Start Date/Time: 2024-04-24 07:00:00
End Date/Time: 2024-05-01 19:00:00

Our client had a life many only dream of – he was a Phantom fighter pilot in the US Air Force and later worked on NASA projects. He was also a savvy collector of all things space or flight-related. We are proud to present an interesting array of items he acquired during his many years of involvement in aerospace. His keen eye for high-quality and unique items is readily obvious in this auction. At least one or two things will catch your eye regardless of your personal interest in aerospace!

  • NASA Publications: Mission Reports, awareness brochures, histories of Gemini, Mercury, Apollo, Skylab, and Shuttle programs

  • Vintage Desktop Plane/Rocket Models: Boeing, Lockheed, Rockwell, Teledyne, Grumman, McDonnell Douglas, and Chance Vought desktop models from companies such as Topping, FERMO, Precision, Verkuyl, and SFX

  • Space-Related Books: Many first editions/hard to find volumes for audiences as diverse as children to (literally) rocket scientists

  • Art: Calle and Vaughn works on paper and a sculpture from the US Historical Society

  • Space-Themed Japanese Toys: Makers such as Horikawa, Yonezawa, and Yoshiya

  • Moon Mission Memorabilia: Galaxy coins, pennants, postcards, LPs, wall décor, and home goods

  • Space Exploration Action Figures: Sally Ride, Robert Crippen, and Buzz Aldrin

  • Space-Themed Mass Media: Star Trek, Star Wars, Battlestar Galactica, and even Muppets in Space

  • Authentic Items Involved in Space Exploration/Military Service: Piece of the Liberty Bell 7 capsule, USAF flight suit, and many logo patches

  • Obscure and Rare: Flight results of chimpanzee orbits from the 1960s, vintage moon maps, and NASA cafeteria tray

  • Collector Space Cards/Premiums/Stamps: 1950s cereal boxes with space item premiums, potato chip space coins, model collector cards, and first day of issue USPS stamps

  • Expensive Space Toys for Adults: AstroReality items and Code 3 models

  • Space-Themed Pocketknives: makers such as Boker, Victorinox, and Swiza

  • Astronaut/Pilot Autographed Items: Gene Cernan, Neil Armstrong, Michael Collins, James Lovell, Neil Armstrong, Pete Everest and Ed Mitchell

Note on shipping: Many items are one-of-a-kind or exceedingly valuable/fragile. Because of damage issues in the past, we will only use Fed Ex Pack and Ship for these items as noted in their descriptions and for any other lots where the winning bid exceeds $150.
