Lot 7325 is a special memorial 20-multi-page RS0ISS SPACE QSL-card with all ISS missions in honor of the 165th birthday K.E. Tsiolkovsky. More information is given here.

Such QSL-cards confirm the radiocommunication between an amateur radio station and the ISS.

RR Auction video
Moon rock scoop used extensively during the Apollo 16 mission's lunar surface operations, directly from the collection of LMP Charlie Duke. This scoop played an essential role in the success of the mission, as they collected 95.8 kilograms (211 lbs) of lunar samples for return to Earth. It's among over 400 remarkable items in RR Auction's Fall Space Sale. Don't miss this opportunity to own a piece of space history!

For the Apollo 13 collector, Lot 7229 the Bus B Battery cable with its dramatic writeup signed with quotes by Lovell and Haise says it all.

Now, if I mortgage my house in full, sell my collection and cash in my pension, can I afford that Charlie Duke scoop....

The Gemini computer training session sign-in sheet by 24 early astronauts in 1964 that Walter indicated is indeed an incredible piece. Even though most of the sign-in astronauts printed their names on the sheet, there were a few like Shepard, Chaffee, and Gordon that signed almost in full.

But it wasn't Clifton Williams that had been slated to command Gemini 9 with chosen pilot Charles Bassett, but rather Elliot See, whose name is also on the list.

Ah, that Gemini computer training sign-in sheet... it was the first major item I bought for my space collection, back when I really got into the hobby 15 years ago. I was the one who typed up the questionnaire in the RR listing. In fact, here is a 2008 cS post I wrote about it.

Then about four years later, I had to sell it and other items to make possible the down payment on the house in which we now live. I think I'll bid to try to get it back!

Fascinating 2008 post. Thanks for the link I very much enjoyed reading that.
I hope you do bid, and win.

Won the LRV HGA counterweight. Was this ground support or a flight item? Anyone find a photo of a similar item on a lunar rover?

Robert - gulp. I won those two items. After all these years, it still blows my mind that such things can be bought. I will be talking with Charlie Duke about that scoop and more of his memories. Gotta think of some good questions to ask. To help curate the heroic stories surrounding the artifacts.

The LCRU counterweight was GSE (believed to be crew / ground training affiliated).

Congrats, Steve, on those two scores... a couple of halfway decent items.

All times are CT (US)
