The Prop Store is currently hosting a charity auction of over 80 props, blueprints, art and behind-the-scenes production material from the Discovery Channel series "MythBusters."

The proceeds of the auction will benefit The Grant Imahara STEAM Foundation, a non-profit organization founded by Grant's mother, Carolyn Imahara, and several of his lifelong friends.

The auction runs through Sept. 1, 2021.

At least two of the lots offered have a space-theme:

  • Lot 14: Episode "Confederate Rocket" (2005, E40): Episode Blueprint - Final Hybrid Design

In episode "Confederate Rocket" (2005, E40), the MythBusters were able to construct and launch a hybrid rocket in under two days using only properties available to Civil War-era engineers. However, the rocket was not two-stage (as per the myth), and only travelled an estimated 500 yards (460 m). Adam and Jamie agreed that the myth would be impossible with the technology available during the Civil War.

  • Lot 76: Episode "NASA Moon Landing" (2008, E104): Toy Astronaut Spaceman Neil

In episode "NASA Moon Landing" (2008, E104), a toy astronaut Adam named Neil (after Neil Armstrong because of the stripe on this helmet) was put to the test to prove that the NASA photos of the moon landing were not fake. Jamie's hypothesis that the mythical fill in light is actually a reflection of light from the moon's surface was proven plausible as the test showed the astronaut could be seen in the photo taken.

All times are CT (US)
