I have heard of the Odyssey Group auctions that were held years ago (1994-2004?). What happened to them? Did anyone do a summary of these auction results back then? Looking for someone to fill-in the history gap on this auction house. Thanks. |

I'm glad the collectspace server could handle all the traffic replying to the earlier post. Could I just beg for a scan of the description and price realized of item 3856 in the Jan 1998 auction? |

I have the catalogs and prices realized for these sales, unfortunately, filed for the moment. Let me know if you still need the info and I can dig them out. I also have most of the other classic space sales in my files, if needed.

Odyssey only ran 3-4 space-related auctions during the early 1990s as I was their original appraiser and authenticator while working with Bill Miller. I have all of their space auction catalogs here in my office files, therefore, let me know if any are still needed. To my knowledge, Odyssey stopped the majority of their auctions, if not all, after a legal claim was filed in connection with a well-publicized Marilyn Monroe estate auction that Odyssey was handling. Within a day or so before the
auction was to get underway, everything had to be pulled as there was no Monroe auction as planned. Miller's company, if I am not mistaken, is still publishing one or two major autograph collecting magazines. | |
