Please use this topic to discuss SpaceX's Crew Dragon Crew-7 mission to the International Space Station.

NASA astronaut Jasmin Moghbeli and ESA astronaut Andreas Mogensen together with two more crew members still to be named will fly the Crew-7 mission.

I was just looking at the currently listed crew members for Crew 7. I noticed that the Russian cosmonaut's last name is Borisov (first name Konstantin), which made me think of the current head of Roscosmos, Yury Borisov. Does anyone know if the two are related? Thank you!

NASA update
NASA and SpaceX's seventh rotational mission to the space station is planned for no earlier than mid-August 2023.

NASA astronaut Jasmin Moghbeli and Andreas Mogensen of ESA (European Space Agency), mission commander and pilot, respectively, will fly aboard the SpaceX Dragon spacecraft named Endurance, which previously flew on NASA's SpaceX Crew-5 and Crew-3 missions. The final two mission specialists will be assigned in the coming weeks.

The spacecraft is currently being prepared for flight at SpaceX's refurbishing facility in Cape Canaveral, Florida. The company's Falcon 9 rocket booster selection in support of Crew-7 is ongoing.

I do not know if they are related (or not), but Yury Borisov is not Konstantin's father (even though Yury does have a son by the same name).

The cosmonaut's father is Sergey Borisov, a decorated Russian test pilot.

NASA is now targeting the Crew-7 launch for no earlier than Aug. 17. The move provides a a couple of extra days for SpaceX to turnaround Pad 39A after a Falcon Heavy launch scheduled for July 26.

If Crew-7 cannot launch on Aug. 17, then NASA has just one more day to attempt a launch before standing down until Aug. 21 to allow for Russian Progress activities at the station. If Aug. 21 is not possible, then NASA will stand down until Aug. 25, to again allow for Progress activities to be completed.

NASA and SpaceX now are targeting 5:23 a.m. EDT on Monday, Aug. 21, for the Crew-7 launch. The adjusted date allows additional time for launch site processing at Complex 39A.

If needed, a backup opportunity is available at 3:49 a.m. EDT on Friday, Aug. 25.

The target launch date for the Crew-7 mission is now 3:49 a.m. EDT on Friday, Aug. 25. According to NASA, additional time was required for teams to complete pad readiness after SpaceX's recent Falcon Heavy launch from Complex 39A.

The delay also deconflicts the space station's cargo spacecraft traffic schedule. If needed, Crew-7 has additional launch opportunities on Saturday, Aug. 26 and Sunday, Aug. 27.

Crew-7 is now scheduled to dock to the orbiting laboratory about 2:45 a.m. EDT on Saturday, Aug. 26, to the space-facing port of the station's Harmony module.

Today's flight readiness review has given a go to proceed with a launch attempt on Friday (Aug. 25) at 3:49 a.m. EDT (0749 GMT).

Docking will follow a day later at about 2:02 a.m. EDT (0602 GMT) on Saturday.

Backup launch opportunities are available on Saturday and Sunday, if needed. Weather forecasts will begin to be issued by the 45th Weather Squadron later this week.

The Crew-7 astronauts will conduct a launch day rehearsal on Tuesday morning, following the same schedule they will on Saturday. After the practice countdown, SpaceX plans to test fire the Falcon 9's first stage.

Following the launch readiness review on Wednesday night (Aug. 23), the Crew-7 launch is now targeted for 3:50 a.m. EDT on Friday.

The 45th Weather Squadron predicts a 90 percent chance of favorable conditions for launch, with the cumulus cloud rule serving as the primary concern.

I've noticed during the crew's walkout that the Telsas were painted black; has those cars been repainted by any chance?

Not repainted, but rather newer model Tesla Model X cars. They were introduced for Crew-6.
