Orbital Assembly Corp., a California-based startup that wants to pioneer construction and infrastructure in outer space, has hit its $1 million fundraising goal and aims to open Voyager Station, an operational luxury hotel in orbit in 2027. Its planned Voyager Station is designed to accommodate 400 people at a time and will have artificial gravity roughly as strong as the moon's.A stay in space will offer a low-gravity gymnasium and private spacewalks, but it won't come cheap. Orbital estimates that recreational space travelers will have to have a net worth of nearly $50 million. To raise capital for its work, the company was selling shares at $0.25 in an effort to raise at least $10,000 by April 1. It has already met its maximum goal of $1 million, according to its page on Netcapital, a crowdfunding investment platform for private companies. |

While this sounds like a nice idea, the idea of from conception paper to operational in 6 years crazy. The legal hurdles alone, and to get construction material to space a lot longer than six years. |

Under 7 between Kennedy's speech and Tranquility Base (unlike Apollo though all the technology currently exists or is already in the developmental pipeline). |

What sounds crazy is one million dollars. Obviously not a final goal, but what is it? The stationary budget? |

And Apollo cost almost one-third of the GNP, obviously not happening for this. The cost of ISS was like $70 billion. You can't raise that kind of money in weeks or months, takes years. Once again adding to time line. In my opinion, until you see serious corporations putting up billions and/or countries, this will just be a fun idea. |

Orbital Assembly Corporation is associated the Gateway Foundation. This video shows it's a scam. The April 1 date is appropriate. |
