Today's (Feb. 4, 2021) Starlink satellite launch on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket broke the turnaround time record for the reuse of a Falcon 9 first stage by more than 25%. The previous record was 37 days, while today's launch was 27 days. So, SpaceX is now turning around orbital class rocket stages in less than four weeks. Today's Falcon 9 booster, B1060, previously launched the Turksat 5A satellite into orbit for Turkey on Jan. 7. |

What is the shortest time, in days, between flights of the same Falcon 9 first stage booster? Also, does anyone have an idea of how many previously flown first stage boosters are in SpaceX's current inventory? Editor's note: Threads merged. |

The 27-day record cited above still stands. After the February 2021 flight of B1060, the record was tied by B1058 in April.SpaceX has 10 previously flown first stage boosters either being refurbished, awaiting another launch or, in the case of two, being converted to Falcon Heavy side boosters. Wikipedia has a good chart to keep track of the various boosters and their statistics. | |
