Soyuz MS-27 crew, rocket poised for launchSoyuz MS-27 commander Sergey Ryzhikov and flight engineer Alexey Zubritsky, both of Roscosmos, together with NASA astronaut Jonny Kim are set to launch to the International Space Station on Tuesday (April 8) at 1:47 a.m. EDT (0547 GMT or 10:47 a.m. local time) from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan.

The Soyuz is scheduled to dock to the station's Prichal node module at about 5:03 a.m. EDT (0903 GMT) the same day, after a two-orbit rendezvous.
About two hours after docking, the hatches between the Soyuz and the space station will open and Ryzhikov, Zubritsky and Kim will be greeted by Expedition 72 commander Alexey Ovchinin and cosmonauts Kirill Peskov and Ivan Vagner of Roscosmos, NASA astronauts Nichole Ayers, Anne McClain and Don Pettit and JAXA (Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency) astronaut Takuya Onishi.
On Saturday (April 5), the Soyuz-2.1a rocket topped with the Soyuz MS-27 spacecraft was rolled out to Pad 31/6 by train and erected into position.
