Progress MS-22 launches to space stationThe 83rd Progress cargo spacecraft to head for the International Space Station, Progress MS-22 is now on its way, having launched atop a Soyuz-2.1a rocket on Thursday (Feb. 9) at 1:15 a.m. EST (0615 GMT or 11:15 a.m. local time) from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan.
The resupply ship reached its preliminary orbit and deployed solar arrays and navigational antennas as it began its two-day rendezvous.
The Progress will dock to the aft port of the Zvezda service module on Saturday (Feb. 11) at 3:49 a.m. EST (0849 GMT).
On board, the Progress is carrying 5,586 pounds (2,534 kilograms) of food, fuel and supplies for the multi-national Expedition 68 crew.
