As perhaps some of you know, I've long been interested in the whole concept of the Apollo Mission Operations Control Room (MOCR) and, further to that, Mercury Control.

However, I've often wondered about the Russian equivalent at the time — TsUP. For instance, who was their "version" of Chris Kraft, Bob Gilruth, etc, how realistic and successful were their integrated simulations and what became of the personnel? Can anyone help on this?

Soviet flight control was very different to NASA. There isn't really a simple 1:1 equivalent in sites and personalities. Have you read Chertok's "Rockets and People"?
