A volcano in Bali, Indonesia has been acting up for the past three months. Experts are afraid that after two large ash releases during the past week it may be ready to fully erupt. An estimated 100,000 people live on the slopes of Mt. Agung in the path of a potential rapid lava flow. Officials are saying that less than half of the residents have heeded their warnings to evacuate.
Apparently local cloud cover has obstructed satellite observation the past few days. Hopefully the weather will clear and astronauts on the ISS will focus on the island if they get a chance to show what's going on there?
NASA is tracking a toxic sulfur dioxide cloud released from the volcano back on Monday, Nov. 27.
