I have been thinking about the Multi-Purpose Logistic Modules (MPLMs) and I have realised that apart from transporting logistics into orbit and being transferred to the station until empty I know not a lot about them and what they look like like inside. Are there any good videos that explain them a bit better.

What will become of them now that the shuttle program is over?

I'm going to use one as my tool shed.

There were three MPLMs built and two flown.

Leonardo is now installed on the International Space Station as the Permanent Multipurpose Module (PMM). Donatello, which never flew, was cannibalized for parts to strengthen Leonardo to be left on-orbit, its useful parts sent back to the Italian Space Agency (ASI) and Thales Alenia Space.

Raffaello just returned from space onboard Atlantis. It is almost certainly destined for a museum.

With regards to video overviews, here is one about the transformation of Leonardo from MPLM to PMM:

The video was very interesting indeed. The people of the space program are some smart cookies to think of all that.
