With STS-133 just replaced on the pad and scheduled for launch on 24th, will the 24 days be the shortest time a shuttle has been on the pad?

I think it might be STS 51-B. They rolled Challenger out to the pad while STS 51-D was still in orbit (April 12-19) They did the TCDT and did the first shuttle to shuttle com check. They launched Challenger on the 29th.

Yes, my guess would have to be sometime during the whirlwind known as 1985. I'll look up all the flights during 1985 since today is a snow day.

STS-115 in August 2006 was rolled off Pad A for hurricane Ernesto on August 29, with the rollout reversed half way; Atlantis went on to launch September 9 after a couple of scrubs, making an 11-day on-pad time or eight days before making an attempt.

EDIT: In fact, hail-damaged STS-96 rolled back out on May 21 and launched May 27, 1999. That's six days.

I didn't know about the shuttle-to-shuttle comm check. Does anyone know if there is any available audio of this?
