From my friends at KSC:
Due to the damage caused by hurricane Katrina the VAB will be retro-fitted to accomadate working on the External Tanks. They will set up 6 work stations to complete tank assembly and applying insulation. The launch date for Discovery on STS-121 will probably slip to September, 2006.

I read elsewhere that STS-121 is being re-scheduled for May 2006. Whenever it does happen, seems to me the Shuttle programme ought to be retired as soon as possible. Perhaps after launching the Japanese elements although it would be nice to see Cupola in place.
