Writer and director Jean de Meuron's short film "Edge of Space" is set in 1961 during the height of the space race between the U.S. and Soviet Union. It is on the Academy Awards' shortlist for a Best Live Action Short Film nomination.
An ambitious USAF test pilot is recruited by NASA for a daring suborbital mission in a X-15 hypersonic rocket-powered aircraft with astronomical implications.
