Oreo to celebrate moon landing 50th with limited edition cookies

Nabisco is launching a tasty tribute to the 50th anniversary of the first moon landing.

The snack company on Tuesday (May 14) revealed its upcoming release of Oreo Marshmallow Moon cookies. The new limited edition flavor is set to land on store shelves in mid-June, just in time to celebrate the Apollo 11 mission that delivered the first humans to the surface of the moon on July 20, 1969.

I have to support one of my favorite treats! It will go along with the recent Game of Thrones cookies!

Oreo moon landing cookies touch down in stores (with stickers!)

Houston, the Oreo moon landing cookies have landed.

A month after being announced by Nabisco, the limited edition "Marshmallow Moon" Oreos — and their bonus collectible moon landing-themed stickers — have begun arriving on store shelves. The cookies come just in time to celebrate the 50 years since NASA's Apollo 11 mission, which saw the first astronauts walk on the moon in July 1969.

Picked up some of these cookies and the three little glow in the dark stickers on the back of the bag each measure 32mm square.

Any idea where those of us who can't walk into a Wallmart (or any other American store) can get hold of these?

I believe Nabisco (Mondelēz International) is only distributing the cookies to U.S. grocery chains, including Target, Walmart and Kroger (based on reader reports). For packs outside the United States, individual resales, such as on eBay and Amazon, may be your choice.
