collectSPACE NASA research center inspires basketball player's new Nike sneakersA professional basketball player's personal connection to NASA has given rise to a new pair of sneakers. The Nike PG 3 X NASA shoes draw their design cues from the birthplace shared by five-time NBA All-Star Paul George and NASA's historic space shuttle fleet. "I grew up in Palmdale, California, which has a big NASA base that not a lot of people know about," said George in a statement released by Nike. "This shoe is for the kids who want to fly, whether as professional athletes or astronauts." The Nike PG 3 X NASA 'Total Orange' shoes launch for sale on Nike's SNKRS website on Saturday, Jan. 26 at 10 a.m. EST (1500 GMT) for $120 per pair.  |

Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex release Paul George Showcase Presented by: Finish Line x NIKENike and Finish Line are celebrating the launch of the signature Paul George x NASA retail collaboration. Guests with daily admission to Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex on Saturday, January 26, 2019 are invited to attend the inaugural Paul George Showcase featuring games between four of Florida's top high school boys’ basketball teams. They will compete onsite, with the court set up next to the towering Mercury and Apollo-era rockets in the Rocket Garden. This showcase will display the talents of Lakeland Christian versus The Masters Academy and Chaminade-Madonna versus Nova University. Tip-off for the games are at 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM (weather permitting). The event is hosted by Nike X Finish Line and Free Daps, with music by DJ EFX and special performances by the school's bands throughout the day. The Paul George PG 3 "NASA" sneaker draws inspiration from NASA's Armstrong Building 703 in Paul George’s hometown of Palmdale, California and honors his passion for space and the idea of limitless potential. | |
