Thank you very much for posting that great little clip. As a car guy and a space buff must say it brought a tear to my eye.

Awesome
Per AdWeek Magazine's website, the spot will run during the game's first quarter.

Somehow I was compelled to hug an aging astronaut.

Wondering, were the missing legs on the LM model meant to be symbolic?

Don't know about that... but I've watched this way too many times and just now noticed the Code 3/TMC Apollo CM on the "Commander's" desk.

How about the Mercury spacecraft (it looks like one of those plastic banks) at the base of the lamp?

Scott Kelly and Tim Kopra appeared on CBS's pre-game show from aboard the space station (screen cap via Jim Banke on Facebook):

Scott Kelly on the space station:
Hosted Super Bowl party on space station, but no one showed up. I would have served nachos!
Got to see the Super Bowl in person after all! But at 17,500MPH, it didn't last long.

Jeep's ad included a shot of an astronaut. Rick Mastracchio confirmed it was Mike Hopkins:
Great shot of @AstroIllini in Super Bowl car ad with reflection of me in his visor.

One website says MSRP is $116,000. Guess I'll keep my 89 Mazda RX-7 and keep pretending it's a rocket.
Would have been cool if they had tweaked the opening a little and cast a real Apollo astronaut as the main character. Wonder if they invited anyone.

Audi launched its "Why the Moon Matters" campaign, which included this commercial, by having Gene Cernan on stage at the North American Auto Show in Detroit in January, as pictured in our article.
(Also mentioned was the company's Google Lunar XPrize involvement, as Craig [Buel] linked to above.)

Now THAT would have made it perfect! Who would you have preferred it to have been? For me, Charlie Duke.

Buzz Aldrin cited on Twitter today the results of the Audi ad on his own identity, according to Google Trends:
+350% spike in searches for @TheRealBuzz (Buzz Aldrin) since the @Audi commercial #SB50
Says Aldrin:
Too bad @Audi didn't ask me to do that #SB50 commercial but I am happy people thought to look me up.
