A friend of mine recently reminded me that Ed Mitchell was in residence for a week with Arthur C. Clarke and Wernher von Braun in 1971 whilst attending a NASA 'Futures Planning' conference. My friend wondered (tongue in cheek) if perhaps at some point during that week if these three great men may have had a 'heated discussion' over what to watch on the TV! Another friend furthered this by suggesting that they may have argued over whose turn it was to do the washing up!! Both of these suggestions made me laugh out loud! I wonder if any other cS'ers out there could offer any other suggestions to what these men could have had a petty disagreement over? |

All three men (Mitchell, von Braun and Clarke) were advertised as guests aboard "Voyage Beyond Apollo," a nine-day commercial cruise from New York to Cape Canaveral to observe the launch of Apollo 17. All three men were no shows. So maybe they really did have a falling out at the conference... (Kidding aside, Mitchell himself ranks his meeting with Clarke and von Braun as a highlight of his career, second only to his flight to the moon.) |

Love that, Robert!!! Go on then... let's hear your opinion on what the (mythical) disagreement could have been? By the way, I love to think that Ed Mitchell, only now and then, allows himself to watch those YouTube videos such as 'Man falls over', etc, and giggles like a naughty kid! | |
