The Las Vegas Review Journal's Norm! Vegas Confidential reports that Buzz Aldrin was recently presented with a 600-pound moon cake, the making of which was filmed for TLC's "Fabulous Cakes."

Luxor chefs rolled out a 600-pound moon cake, complete with a replica of a lunar lander and a circling earth, at the end of "An Evening With Buzz Aldrin" on Saturday. Aldrin was the second man to walk on the moon. The cake required almost 600 man hours to create and was filmed by a TLC camera crew for a "Fabulous Cakes" episode.

TLC describes its "Fabulous Cakes" series as...

...a behind the scenes look at the country's top bakeries. In each episode, the show will visit a new area of the country to witness the creation of three extraordinary custom cakes. Some of the best pastry chefs in the world share their tips and techniques as they conceive, construct, and deliver cakes that take the art of pastry above and beyond your everyday dessert.

Aldrin is quoted as noting that the electric-powered "Earth" revolving around the huge cake was traveling in the wrong direction.

"Small detail," he said. "Wrong way."
