I used to love this series when I was a kid ... I didn't realize until many years later that the crash sequence at the beginning of each episode was the film of Bruce Peterson's M2F2 crash (apparently, Peterson was not very happy with the crash sequence being replayed on TV every week).Anyway ... I have seen various "bootleg" DVD's of this series avbailable, but does anyone know if a regular DVD of this show has been released? ------------------ John Capobianco Camden DE |

According to wikipedia, "Universal Playback has released the first 2 Seasons of The Six Million Dollar Man on DVD in Region 2 for the very first time. It has yet to be released in Region 1 for unconfirmed reasons." Season one was released in September 2005 and season two in October 2006.With regards to "unconfirmed reasons" see Why Aren't The Original Bionic Shows On DVD? Questions Answered! from TV Guide's DVD Guy blog dated October 3, 2007. |

Lee Majors has done four films for '07 and lined up for another next year. Glad to see him still in demand. But he will not sign for free in person, $$ !On a side note, I do not like the new Bionic Woman TV series. Lindsay Wagner is still a great actress, wish she had offers to do something besides mattress commercials. |

Even if the new Bionic Woman doesn't turn you on, it could lead to the old series as well as 6MDM coming out on DVD in Region 1 since the rights for Bionic Woman would have been established anyway. I'm surprised that Sci Fi Channel at least hasn't started showing any marathons of it as they did with BSG before the new show aired. The blog that Rob linked to pretty much answers the questions at least and glad to see the Jim Carey film died before making it to production (yay!). |

The Sci Fi Channel may have wanted to air the episodes, but it could have been a matter of not being able to obtain the licensing to do so...or not getting it for a reasonable fee. I suspect the Sci Fi channel doesn't necessarily have deep pockets...and they may prefer to spend the majority of whatever money they have on their own original productions. |
