A few months ago, the editors at Loaded contacted collectSPACE. They have a section in their monthly magazine devoted to suggesting cool products for sale, organized by lists of 10, that they label "The Right Stuff". With a name like that, it only made sense to include a list of 10 space collectibles, for which they desired our "expert" assistance recommending. While it would be easy to list 10 one-of-a-kind artifacts, the purpose of this article was to feature space-related products that are available for retail sale. Though I could have selected 10 items from our buySPACE catalog, I thought it was more appropriate to choose 10 different dealers and 10 different types of items. Ultimately, I selected the following list: - Space Shuttle Tile / Countdown Creations
- Giant Moon Panorama / MoonPans
- Moonwalkers Lithograph / Novaspace Galleries
- Astronaut Autograph Club / Astronaut Scholarship Foundation
- Speedmaster Professional / Omega
- Moonbuzz Lamp / Habitat
- Space Pen / Fisher Space Pen
- Apollo Spacesuit Replica / Global Effects
- Saturn V 1:48 Scale Replica / Nick Proach Models
- Space-Flown Cigarettes / Farthest Reaches
The tenth item on the list was chosen to represent unique artifacts for sale, and was selected in part due to the audience that Loaded reaches.I just learned on Friday that the feature ran in the June issue of Loaded. A scan of the two-page spread is reprinted below. Click on the image to enlarge. From their website: Aimed at 16-30 year-old-men, Loaded presents the edited highlights of a young man's interests and aspirations: football, cars, grooming, gorgeous women and gaming in clearly signposted sections. One of the UK’s biggest selling men's magazines, Loaded is a monthly publication that has millions of readers monthly, selling at newsstands in Britain, USA, Australia and worldwide. It has a monthly readership of approximately 1.4 million. |

A very nice looking layout with a good assortment of things to buy. They couldn't have picked a better "expert." A million people will be thinking space when they see this, for as long as it takes to flip the page anyway. | |
