Hi Guys/Gals,
for the past couple of launches NASA/Contractor have produced some launch giveaways e.g. miniflags etc.I haven't heard anyone mention anything this time. Were there any freebies?
Thanks,
Nick.

There were no mini-flags for STS-117, to the best of my knowledge. There were mission lapel pins from Boeing (sans-Anderson) and NASA (with Anderson) as well as the aluminum mission coins from NASA (sometimes referred to as "astronaut presentation" medals).

For those who got on the causeway site via their congressman, they gave away a NASA meatball sticker as well as a pin and patch (both without Anderson).

Just for the record, NASA never ordered any revised STS-117 mission decal stickers with Anderson's name added. Cachet mission envelope "covers" were revised in time by my company, however, some NASA outlets only sold the older version that SCCS supplied in Feb. (the new version was available by June 1). Special VIP launch attendees were given a mission patch and pin (with Anderson included), a KSC folder, and a "Launch Guest" button or pinback. I haven't seen nor heard of any 117 mini-flags (and pennants), as Robert pointed out, but there were mini-flags issued for other missions besides STS-114 that I have somewhere in my studio office.

NASA may have not, but the crew had what appeared to be at least two decals aboard the ISS with the Anderson tab. Of course, these may have been paper cutouts or perhaps only the tab was paper attached to pre-crew addition decal.

I'm not aware of a flag being produced for STS-114. The first flag that we saw (and reported) were for STS-121, which had the word "Launch" on them. STS-115 and STS-116 had similar flags but omitted the launch tagline.
