What is the proper pronounciation of Mare?

Is it Mar ray? or Mar rah? or something else?

Thank you, Garry

I could be wrong, but I think the first one - Ma-ray is correct.

That's my vote, but what do I know?

With a Masters in Classics I can definitively say it is "mah-ray", although you never know how words transliterate once they cross the pond
