From the USA Network website:

Coming Up: Mr Monk and the Astronaut

Monk tries to prove that an astronaut committed murder despite the suspect's seemingly airtight alibi: he was in space. Jeffrey Donovan guest stars when Monk returns Friday, March 3 at 10/9C.

The [Mr Monk] series is on BBC1 at 2.35pm every weekday afternoon.
Today- {Quote- A PILOT was accused of murdering his rich wife--and Monk was aboard this plane- oh- [fear of flying} NO WAY-he solved this on board. What a character-always wiping his hands-so no hand shakes- [GET THE WIPES OUT?}
such an amusing series.
Think the Astronaut one- was on the other week.
if I get the time- love to watch this.

ps- hope everyone is not snowed under-take care.

Adrian Monk, played superbly by Tony Shalhoub, returned this week for another season of detective work and analysis on the USA channel. This weeks episode involved an astronaut (Steve Wagner) and his dead wife. I will not give away the plot or the ending. However, a Japanese doll and a garage door opener were involved.

There was also mention of a "spacewalk" drink, which includes an olive, an onion and a cherry.

One line I remember was made by the Commissioner, who, after listening to his assistant's rediculous analysis of the murder, said, "I have heard theories before, and they don't sound like that."

The official Monk/USA website contains many interesting features at the following link:

Bill, I think you just gave new meaning to the word spoiler. Oh, well... after watching, I wouldn't recommend this episode to anyone as worth their time. Its only my opinion, but it was one of the weaker, less plausible Monks of recent memory and the "astronaut" in its title was more tease than truth.

Wasn't the dead girl not his wife, but just a conquest..If not, that's how much I paid attention to this stinker of an episode..and I love Monk, but this is one they could have "wipe"d away..

I missed this thread until after the show, but if anyone else missed it and wants to watch it, the episode can be bought online through the iTunes Music Store.

I liked the episode and I do not think that I was a "spoiler" by mentioning the doll and garage door opener. How would you kill someone with a doll and a garage door opener?

Tony Shalhaub has been in many movies playing all sorts of roles. However, I remember him from the TV series "Wings" where he played a cab driver. Some of his many acting roles, including "Wings" can be found on the Internet. The following link is an example:
